A Bright Future
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” The good news is – (and we can’t help bragging a little) – there are some very exciting things happening at the Dubois County Humane Society Shelter. We’ve increased the number of annual adoptions to over 500 animals in the past 5 years and increased the number of animals that are housed with us waiting for their forever homes. Nearly 1000 animals pass thru our low-cost spay/neuter program each year. And to cover all that, we’ve increased the number of volunteers, foster homes and employees.
As great as all that is, what it means is that we are literally tripping over each other in our outdated, crowded space! We have dreamed of an expansion for years, and now it looks like we might be close to making that a reality. With this renovation and addition, we will be able to add more kennels, more space for our kitties, a space for meet & greet with potential adopters, a much-needed medical area, and give ourselves room to navigate our space more efficiently. We’re so close we can taste it. We’re hoping you’re willing to help us take the last few steps toward our goal with a donation to our Building Fund. |
